Longing - Chapter 2 (snippet #32)...
Forcing herself not to think about the demon escaping, she pulled out of the McDonalds parking lot and followed the vet. Tailing her presented no challenge, only fifteen minutes and three turns later, they reached a quiet housing development on the outskirts of downtown Charlotte. Only five minutes from her parent’s penthouse.
Taylor waited for the doctor to pull inside the garage and then she parked next to the curb, directly outside the vet’s house. She smoothed the hair of the black wig away from her face, got out of the car and headed toward the two-story brick Tudor.
The warm summer night was no match for the beast’s daunting chill. Taylor shivered as she walked the brick pavers to the front door. She had to keep the beast in check for a little longer. Taking a deep breath, she rang the doorbell.
