As he ran the stars spiraled overhead, a dizzy kaleidoscope that snatched my breath away. With everything that’d happened, I should be afraid. But I wasn’t. He would never let anything happen to me.
He gave up everything to protect me. He gave up—

My Midweek Mayhem, Interviews and Zip-line Pictures... #amblogging

Happy Midweek Y'all!

Working it out…

Riding the Ferry to Alcatraz 2011
  • Things are coming along nicely for the yet-to-be-titled alien novella. I'm at 12k words. The goal is 40k. As I talk about the alien story, which takes place in San Francisco, California... I'll be posting some pictures from the trip my hubby and I took there last year. This pic is on the ferry ride to the prison (Alcatraz Island). In my novella this is where everyone on their 18th birthday is taken to be tested, and if you're a DNA Match--well, let's just say...you don't wanna be a match!
  • I started Witch Way book #2 revisions!!
  • Here's a teaser from book #2 I'm super happy with (as always, no spoilers to book #1 or #2).
  • (Breena's POV)The gold in Orin's eyes sparked bright and alluring. She’d thought for a second she was over her swoony phase until he smiled at her. His smile was different from Myles’s. Still sexy, but more present…an in-the-moment display of emotion, almost as if this could be there last second together and it had to be perfect.
Waiting game…

Reading...
  • Am currently reading Keir by Pippa Jay (romance/science fiction)! Powerful and emotional read so far! Outcast. Cursed. Dying. Is Keir beyond redemption? 50% in and loving it! Just wish I had more time to read! One day :)

Zip line pix of me and my friend Kat... This adventure was terrifying at first because I'm afraid of heights, but the day turned out to be so much fun! I'd definitely go ziplining again! Our next adventure...indoor sky-diving :) Crazy? Who, me?

Here's a 55 second You Tube video of one of the longest zip lines at the park...here. It's not me tho; I'm still trying to get the video of me to play. Dog gone those Apple to PC conversions. LOL

Starting out slow... Assessing the situation...

Baby steps...
What the crap! Are we really doing this?
Ahhh! Really doing this!

His gaze shifted from surveying the forest to me. I shivered. “The guy who’s saving your ass.”
“From what? What the hell is—”
“Quiet,” he said before taking off.
What's he saving her from? Where is he taking her? Tune in next week for more Greta and Pax!! Thanks again for stopping by! Your support and feedback is greatly appreciated! Get a sneak peek for more awesome authors at SSS.

Guest Post: EFT and Unblocking your Writing Potential by Dana D’Angelo...

Today Dana D'Angelo--author of One True Knight--is here visiting us with her guest post on Emotional Freedom Technique...

Welcome, Dana! Tell us more about EFT!

You need a positive attitude in this business of writing.

Right from the start, you have fears and doubts that can prevent you from finishing your book. And when you do finish your manuscript, you could wait anxiously for up to a year for a publisher to get back to you. And even if you self-publish, which is the route I decided to take with One True Knight, a whole host of things that may or may not go wrong come to the forefront.

So how do you maintain a positive attitude in the midst of all this negativity, fear and self-doubt?

Surprisingly, it's not that difficult. While in my quest to improve myself as a person and as a writer, I came across the Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT. This technique is based on the Eastern concept of energy flow or meridian lines (like in acupuncture). The idea is to have your entire energy system flowing freely. If there's an energy blockage somewhere in your system, you may develop a disruption, which can manifest itself as negative emotions and/or affect your health on a physical level.

All you need to do is to use two fingers, and tap on various places on your body while focusing on an affirmative statement. By tapping along the meridian lines, you can then neutralize your negative emotions and change your mental state.

I could go into detail on how to perform EFT on yourself, but then it just gets too technical, and I might lose you. My goal in this blog post is to introduce you to the concept. If you feel compelled to learn more, Google it or check it out on Youtube.

I promise you that you'll be glad you did. I believe that when you're in a positive state of mind, you will reach your potential - in all you do.

Best wishes and positive vibes go out to you in meeting your potential, whether it’s in pursing your dream in writing or in your personal life.

Big thank you to Dana for guest blogging with us today!

My Midweek Mayhem, Character Interview and Random Picture Fun... #amblogging

Happy Midweek Y'all!

Working it out…
  • Squee!!!!!! Witch Way to Turn has Sizzling Read promo this month...check out Breena's character interview here. So much fun! The girl has so much to say! iHeart her! :) I'm also giving away a signed copy of Witch Way to Turn...stop by and comment to enter! Good luck!
  • Running From Shadows didn't make it into the agent round of the Come and Get It contest. However, my query received some excellent critiques, so I plan to do a little revamping.
  • Just signed up for the free version of HootSuite. Gonna give it a try. Seems like a good idea to have Twitter/FB both on the same app. Plus, it allows me to schedule tweets/shares. Will keep you posted!

Me at Alcatraz in 2011
  • Things are coming along nicely for the yet-to-be-titled alien novella. I'm nearly at 11k words. The goal is 40k. As I talk about the alien story, which takes place in San Francisco, California... I'll be posting some pictures from the trip my hubby and I took there last year. This pic is inside the prison (Alcatraz Island). In my novella this is where everyone on their 18th birthday is taken to be tested, and if you're a DNA Match--well, let's just say...you don't wanna be a match!
  • I started Witch Way book #2 revisions on Monday! I'm doing my first read thru, making comments on things that need to be tweaked and adding notes in places where additional scenes/details will need to be written.
  • Here's a teaser from book #2 I'm super happy with (as always, no spoilers to book #1 or #2).
  • (Myles POV) He shuddered, but kept drinking. This was for Breena…to be with her. If he could go the rest of his existence without an ounce of blood, he would. Some vampires lived to drink. Myles drank to live.

  • On week #7 of waiting to hear back from the one agent and editor from the RWA conference. *also continues to keep all possible body parts crossed*
  • (Update) One of the agents who had requested at RWA sent me a very encouraging rejection. One of her comments: You are undoubtedly a strong writer, and I liked Greta's voice.
  • (Update) A 'no' is never fun to hear, but it does get a little easier....or maybe my skin has just gotten thicker? The right agent is going to work out. She just wasn't The One...even though she was awesome :)

Join me as we go back to when Greta Shore (a 17-year-old, black-haired wiccan beauty) and Paxton "Pax" Craig (an 18-year-old, blond-haired college student with a dark secret) first meet. Well, when they think they first met. *winks*

It's wrong... Forbidden. And for a fleeting moment after Greta's been attacked by a shadow demon, she welcomes death...

Seconds later, I was scooped up into strong arms, held tight in an embrace that instantly made me feel safe, made me feel…home.
“Who are you?” I asked, and even I could hear the edge of wonder in my voice. He looked down at me and his eyes were silvered by moonlight, and familiar somehow. The world spun around us. There was a name caught like a promise between teeth and tongue, just out of reach.
More Greta and Pax to come next week!! Thanks again for stopping by! Your support and feedback is greatly appreciated! Get a sneak peek for more awesome authors at SSS.
