Weekend Writing Warriors: Soo, IS he immortal? RUNNING FROM SHADOWS #8Sunday #Unicorns

Today I'm sharing from my (unpublished) young adult paranormal romance Running From Shadows, currently being read by a lovely agent!! Squee!!

Follow Greta Shore (a 17-year-old, black-haired wiccan beauty) and Paxton "Pax" Craig (an 18-year-old, blond-haired college student with a dark secret) as they discover the fate of their forbidden love.
 ****
Set-up (last week)... Greta runs away from her surprise engagement partthrough the woodsPax saves her from a shadow demon. Oh, and he's a unicorn!
Back at Pax's cabin, Greta and Pax talk. He tells her the demon wants immortality so she asks him... Are you immortal?

“No.” He took a long drink from his mug, while I let out a mental sigh of relief. “But my blood can be. Under the right circumstances.”

“How?” Curiosity won out over manners.

His lips flattened and his brows knit together. “We don’t talk about it. The Order has rules for a reason.”

Tune in next week to find out!

Thanks again for stopping by! Your support and feedback is greatly appreciated!

  1. Oh heck, I can see why they don't talk about it. It would be like giving away a secret recipe. Nice snippet. Every week they find a bit more about each other.

  2. Poor unicorns, people been drinking their blood for centuries looking for immortality. Nice job pulling the story forward Karen. I like the short tense sentences.

  6. Yes, one doesn't want to give away uses for one's blood--especially to a potential enemy.

  7. I was wondering if he had blood that could be used for achieving immortality--and I can certainly see why he wouldn't want to encourage people to try with any information at all!
