The Next Big Thing Blog Hop (Tag - You're it!) Woot!! #Unicorns and #Witches and #Demons... Oh my!! #PitchWars

Hello, my darlings! Guess what??

I was recently tagged by the very lovely Katherine Skye to participate in The Next Big Thing Blog Hop, which is freakin' awesome! Be sure to stop by and check her out! Her WIP sounds fantastic!!

Today, I'm talking about my demon-slaying unicorn story that I'm currently shopping to agents! Squee!!

What is the working title of your book?

Running From Shadows

Where did the idea come from for the book?

Let me preface this with: I adore vampires and would totally let one bite me...especially if he was super sexy and his name was Damon Salvatore. ;) *fans self* Anyway, I wanted to write a paranormal romance that had absolutely nothing to do with vampires!

What genre does your book fall under?

Definitely young adult paranormal romance with a strong mystery element

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

I'm so bad at choosing! LOL How about I show you some of my Pinterest pix for them instead?? ;) Click here!

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

A unicorn shifter must choose to kill the boy she loves in order to save her coven from the shadow demon who lusts after her soul.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

I’m currently seeking representation.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Erm, is it sad that I don't remember?? LOL Because I work a day job too, normal first draft time for me is anywhere from 3 to 6 months. It is completely edited and is super shiny! Bring on the offers!! ;)

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

It's way different from anything I've ever read, but if I had to say it's a mix of Rampant meets Fallen.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

Definitely the heroine, Greta Shore. She had so much crap going on in her life at one time that she needed someone to vent to...and luckily for me, I was it!

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

This isn't your average unicorn story. My unicorns are demon slayers and guardians of witches.

Next step!

I'm nominating some wonderful friends and amazing writers. Can't wait to hear what they're working on! Y'all ready for this?? Check 'em out!

Katheryn Rodzianko
Kristine Overbrook
Lola Karns
Ryan Hill

Also, if you have a manuscript ready for submission and haven't signed up for #PitchWars yet ~~ Do it!!! ;)
