Weekend Writing Warriors: Holy Goddess, just answer the question! RUNNING FROM SHADOWS #8Sunday #Unicorns #YA

Today I'm sharing from my (unpublished) young adult paranormal romance Running From Shadows, currently being read by a lovely agent!! Squee!!

Follow Greta Shore (a 17-year-old, black-haired wiccan beauty) and Paxton "Pax" Craig (an 18-year-old, blond-haired college student with a dark secret) as they discover the fate of their forbidden love.
Set-up (last week)... Greta runs away from her surprise engagement partthrough the woodsPax saves her from a shadow demon. Oh, and he's a unicorn!
Back at Pax's cabin, Greta and Pax talk. He tells her that the shadow has fed on her, but they don't feed on witches' blood. Erm, she's a witch...isn't she?

“ does matter. If it’s taking something from me, I have a right to know what it is.”

“You have a right to know, I just don’t think you want—”

Holy Goddess, just answer the question!

“Paxton, tell me.”

“Fine,” he sighed. “Ever get so angry or miserable it physically hurts?”

Yep, right about now.

Tune in next week for more angsty goodness!

  1. Great tension!

Best of luck with the agent.

  2. Pax is torturing me too. I want to know what's going on too.

  3. I have a feeling this is something she really doesn't want to hear.

  4. Oooh, such tension. Is it feeding on her emotions? You have my so curious to know!

  5. Nice tension and interaction. I suspect the "hurt" is the feeding - but I'll have to read on to find out. Nicely done.

  6. I've been anticipating finding out exactly what was done all week! Damn straight, Paxton TELL her (and me!). Great use of the 8.

  7. Very nice snippet. About time Pax tells her what he is and knows! Thanks for sharing.

  8. I feel her annoyance. Spit it out, Pax, spit it out!! The suspence is killing me, just tell her! Good job on you for driving me crazy. :) History Sleuth's Milk Carton Murders

  9. He is so enigmatic, I'm getting annoyed with her at every turns.
