(Read last week's post) Set-up... Pax has told Greta that he's a unicorn. A unicorn!!! So, of course, Greta is all: sure, yeah, whatever... Prove it! Pax is stubborn, so he says he won't shift into his full monoceros form, but he shows her his horn and... Holy. Crap. That's a horn!

“Had enough proof?”
I nodded.
Yup, his horn wasn’t going anywhere unless he wanted it to. And then…it was gone. Retracted in less than a heartbeat. The skin of his forehead smooth again. Strong.
Furrowed, as he watched me.
Hmm, what's he thinking? And, so, uh now that she's seen it...you know she'll wanna see it again!

DeleteDid she (or you) ever say how big it was? I'm trying to visualize--a slender golden spike, or a thick horn like a rhino's? Inquiring minds want to know these things! LOL Great trick with the instant retraction. Loved this 8!
