Hi y'all! Did you miss me? Aww, I missed you :o)
Dang. I barely got this post done by the end of Midweek! Eep!
RWA Nationals were last week and I've got exciting news and pictures to share!!
Take a journey with me...it all started with a rockin' pair of ballet flats. Yes, I was super excited to wear them on the airplane! Plus, they were really comfy. Oh, so I totally got pulled aside for a bag-check by airport security. Yeah, that was annoying. LOL They threw away the hubby's toothpaste! Come on. Eep!
The flight to Anaheim, California was wonderful. No delays, smooth flying :) I even took pix of the clouds. I kept imagining angels flying through them. Yup, I was totally reading Rapture by Lauren Kate (awesome YA angel series)! At one point I started taking even more random pix than of clouds and my hubby was super excited about that...see pic! lol I torture him. It's my life's goal! Bwahaha ;)
When we arrived at the hotel this lovely spotlight greeted us...it was such a rock-star kind of moment. teeheehee
The workshops were awesome and I learned a ton! Omigosh, I took Michael Hauge's Plot Structure workshop... He's amazing and funny! I've been using his plot structure chart for a while now. Fantastic.
Totally hit up the Goody Room for free books and swag... Oh, and ALL the Witch Way to Turn swag bags the hubby and I made got snatched up! Hooray!! This was our first pile...
The hubby and I did a lot of
shopping, eating and chillin' out on Tuesday and Wednesday before the conference got into full swing on Thursday. So, we passed by this HUGE tree everyday on our way to Downtown Disney... And I am totally a tree fanatic, I had to have my picture taken with it. LOL
I met one of my Twitter followers for lunch on Friday! Sooo great!!! Was able to hang out with friends from previous conferences and make new friends. Loved it! Ohhh! Ohhh! Fan-girl moment! I met the lovely Alison Stuart! Her book Gather the Bones comes out with Lyrical Press September 3, 2012. Her Australian accent was awesome!! :)
Ah, yes... So how did my pitch sessions go, you might ask ;) Well. Fabulously!!! Two full requests and one partial!! I was so proud of myself for stepping outside of my comfort zone and not taking in any notes or anything. I just walked right in, sat right down and chatted up a storm! Okay, so I was a little nervous, but I kept smiling and so did they. It was great! Now keep your fingers crossed! Gotta find my demon-slaying unicorn story (Running From Shadows) a good home!
Working it out…

Working it out…
- Witch Way to Turn releases in FIVE days!! This is really happening!! Omigosh... I'm so excited! Soon, so very soon, you'll get to meet the Rhodhiss gang (that's what I call them cos Breena lives in Rhodhiss, North Carolina)!
- Witch Way to Turn's FIRST book review (click here) came out today (5-stars!!), and it was so absolutely beautiful that I cried. Literally. Tears of joy rolled down my cheeks. It was just... Wow. To hear/read someone else talk about your work in such an inspirational way is amazing. Would love for you to read it and comment. It would mean a lot to me. Thank you :)
- Am pluggin' away on book #2 in the Witch Way series. Current word count is a little over 46,000 words!
- Here's a little teaser from book #2 I'm super happy with (as always, no spoilers to book #1 or #2)... The golden circle of his eyes heated to a fiery amber. Breena could easily wrap herself in his molten heat, but she was in control. Not her magic and certainly not her libido.
- On week #8 of waiting to hear back from a lovely agent who is reading Running From Shadows.*continues to keep fingers and toes crossed* Ooo! Ooo! The owner of her literary agency retweeted me on Twitter today! I nearly had a heart-attack! How freakin' cool is that!?!? Gotta be a good sign, right??
Getting personal...
Photo booth moments |
- My cousin's wedding in Augusta, Georgia was stunning! The service to the butterfly release to the delicious food to the dancing... Wow! This is a pic from the really cool photo booth they had. Me and the hubby, in case you were wondering. Gettin' my PG-13 on!! LOL
*Tune back in for SSS on Sunday...
*Beautiful Cover Art for Running From Shadows by Danielle Fine... Check her website for cover art, editing and book trailer services. She has new covers on there that will blow your mind! They are gorgeous!
Random Alert! Random. Alert. Alert. Alert... Yes, this R2D2 is made completely of LEGOs :)
